Biography

Dr. Md. Hemayatul Islam is a Deputy Chief Veterinarian in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, University of Rajshahi. He graduated (DVM) from the Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh with a Master of Science in Obstetrics from University of Rajshahi. During my Five years graduation, I completed one year internship in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine discipline in various government, NGO and private institute. Now Mr. Islam pursuing Doctor’s of Philosophy (PhD) in the University of Rajshahi. In my PhD research I am working with the Zoonotic diseases involved in reproductive disorders in small ruminant. Now I conclude my research and first time report in Bangladesh about Vector born (tick) Zoonotic disease, Q fever in Bangladesh. I was present a paper in One health conference Bangladesh was held in 29-31 March 2015, Dhaka, Bangladesh about ‘Detection of Coxiella burnetii, the causal agent of Q fever, in small ruminants at northern barind tract, Bangladesh’ Other conference attended in science city, Kolkata, India ‘International conference on environmental ecology’ present paper about ‘Evaluation of breed, age and sex responsible for seroprevalence of brucellosis in small ruminant at Northern Barind Tract’.I have 14 years experience in veterinary disease investigation area, and 8 years Research record. In my research period I authorised one international Book, 11 (Eleven) full length articles published in National and International Journal. I was attended and presented paper in 13 (thirteen) International conference in home and abroad including India, Malaysia and Thailand. Dr. Islam is successfully completed a zoonotic disease related project ‘Molecular characterization of Toxoplasmosis in Small ruminants’’ funded by Ministry of Science, information and communication Technology, 2014 solely and two project with my supervisor. He fill better to work together, for that did some research with team and now doing research in a well panel. We were continuing a zoonotic disease awareness project “Control of Rabies through Animal Birth Control (ABC)” in Veterinary Clinic and Artificial Insemination Centre under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, University of Rajshahi. Dr. Islam is involved in some voluntary activities. Had an experience to patronize a youth club, as a general secretary of Bangladesh Livestock Society, SUJHON Rajshahi Metropolitan Secretary and Member of Rotary International. We celebrate various National and International Days including world Rabies day every year as an awareness activities of farmers, school, college and university students.
