Multifunctional Bioactive Nanomaterials for Tissue Regeneration

In the field of biomedicine, human organ repair and regeneration have recently become important topics. Multifunctional bioactive nanomaterials in biomedical applications have attracted much attention in recent years, due to their versatile properties—including photoluminescence, bioactivity, biominerialization, tissue repair, and regeneration. Although the synthesis and biomedical applications of multifunctional bioactive nanomaterials have received much progress in recent years, many challenges still exist, for example:
1) Controlling their intrinsic multifunctional properties for enhanced tissue regeneration
2) Controlling their bioactivity and biodegradation
3) Molecular mechanisms of nanomaterials controlling tissue regeneration
This Research Topic focuses on the development of novel multifunctional bioactive nanomaterials for tissue regeneration. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
• Synthesis, characterizations and tissue regeneration of biocompatible nanomaterials
• Surface functionalization and tissue regeneration of bioactive nanomaterials
• Bioactive glass/ceramic nanoparticles/mesoporous structures for tissue regeneration
• Synthesis, characterizations and tissue regeneration of multifunctional bioactive nanocomposites
